I went over to work at Arlington Court this week, my voluntary day that is....when I parked the car and walked down the lane, I heard something. Turning back I saw this chap on the roof, sunning himself....
There are in fact three peacocks at Arlington,
this one likes the converted barn and it's adjoining tin roof.....
I've heard of a cat on a hot tin roof, never a peacock!

Bet he looks spectacular when he spreads his tail feathers
.....Yes he does. I find some loose ones in the field sometimes and collect them to give to the visitor's.
nice sighting!
Thanks Christine. It was the sound of it moving that alerted me to him being there...in fact he kept on moving his feet, I think the tin roof was getting too hot for him. Silly thing didn't have the intelligence to move Off the roof, lol :-)
Loud little buggers aren't they? There is a flock that lives not far from us. We take visitors there to see them and they are surprised at how much noise they make.
Well, I've heard of a cat on a hot tin roof, never a peacock :)
Beautiful birds!
My son's new neighbours had 4 peacocks when they moved in next door (country property so quite a distance away). They were the noisiest creatures ever! The peacocks seem to be gone now, perhaps the neighbours couldn't stand the noise either!
My mother would never allow a peacock feather in the house.... bad luck would follow for certain.
Yes, they are noisy. They can be some distance away, but still can be heard!
Yes, when they display their tail it looks lovely.
I expect they kept people awake! lol.
I know, that's why I suggest people keep them outdoors. It comes from the pattern on the feather looking like an eye - the evil eye isn't it :-)
We have a peacock ranch about half an hour away. Have collected feathers and they make great displays in Vases. Been there for a couple years now. Have some great photos of them too. Lovely bird but noisy. Lol
I've never heard of a peacock ranch Cris, how wonderful. Although I would imagine people living nearby wouldn't agree, lol.
Must be nice and warm up there! :)
Dear Ann. I love your photos, always so beautiful!
A hug :)
I think it was too warm Judy, he kept fidgeting and moving his feet, what a silly bird :-)
Thanks very much Sonia :-)
