This one is called Velella Velella or also known as By-the-wind-Sailor......and are quite small, measuring about 1"

These are really tiny compared to the others. A pretty blue too. I saw the pictures of the beach huts after the high tide.... that was a close thing!

Yes, it was a close thing. There were loads of people watching from a distance as the waves nearly got to the huts at the end of the line of beach huts. Fortunately they were okay, but I think they will need to build up the sand in front of them a bit more.

This is indeed the prettiest jellyfish I have sever seen !
........neither could I. Husband took the photos and caught them with the light going through them which I think brought out their colour.
We've had these before....they seem to float in on the breeze, hence I guess the nickname.
