I took a few photos - well actually quite a lot of pics and although I don't usually bombard you with loads of pics I thought this visit was worth sharing.....so sit back and I'll show you some of this place with its estuary view, small streets (cars cannot get through the little streets), so it has a lovely atmosphere (although I think moving house would be a total nightmare!)

....the cement mixer was actually used for cleaning the shell fish he had caught!
the local Gig club had been training and we saw them bringing their boats out of the water...

just advertising...

Ah very nice. I spent a holiday in a caravan at Instow many years ago, and explored the little streets of Appledore, but actually haven't been there since. You are definitely making me very homesick!
What wonderful photos! I could SO live there! :) Those are indeed tiny roads. But I see they are divided by a yellow line for traffic. Lol

Hi Mary, no they aren't yellow lines for the traffic, those little streets have a dip running through the middle to run rain water off and away from the houses.
....and tiny houses too, although I think they go back in depth quite a bit.
Not being tall, I very much liked the tiny door. Especially loved the village sign of children's drawings.

I have always wanted to visit Appledore we have looked at holiday cottages here in the past. I didn't realise the streets were so narrow in places! It does look lovely even at this time of year. Sarah x

It's worth visiting, plus there are other lovely places to visit in the area too. It was a pity the day we went over was so dull and cloudy, like everything it looks much better on a sunny day :-)
Those streets are tiny! One does wonder how a new sofa could be delivered, let alone move a whole house.

When I lived in Winkleigh Devon, I used to take the bus to Instow and paint by the river. These photos bring back fond memories for me.
