Croft Castle
Another National Trust visit, this time to Croft Castle and Parkland.
although it is a Castle, inside it is very homey
In this room, all these designs are individually hand painted, so no two are exactly the same...
Inner Courtyard seen from one of the rooms

Then outside, it was nice to have a wander
the parkland was lovely,
with a very quaint building
Then, of course, I stopped for lunch
and did some sketching
~ Another place for the return to list ~

Photographs
Yesterday I showed photographs of Fingle Glen...my pics plus this unusual one we saw from across the river...
I have since found some information about it...there are apparently some other photographs in the woods too, but we didn't walk that side, so sadly missed them...

River walk
But first a sheepjam (that's Devon for you)
This was in Drewsteignton....
Then on to Fingle Glen
where we had a lovely walk
We spied across the river a large photograph that had been added to the scenery
Well, it was different that's for sure...

A look back at old photos the other day...
...and I found this one of our daughter, back in the mid 90's (to be honest I can't remember the exact year, but anyway it was a good photo to find).
We have a friend who is a professional Decorative Painter and highly skilled at her job. Taking on many projects from gypsy caravans to the detailed work required in a stately home Katie B. Morgan happened to be restoring this bow top caravan in the photo, and I got to help her. Oh, and the dog in the photo here, was Katie's lurcher named Megan. Such a sweet dog, every time we saw her, even after months between, Megan would howl with delight to see us. Now sadly over the rainbow bridge, but we still have fond memories.
This photo shows some of the work in progress on this wagon (vardo) - there was a lot to do.
Katie did an amazing job (sadly I didn't take photos of it at that time, you'll have to take my word for it) but it was a great Summer and I'm so glad I have this photo.

Unusual exhibits at Berrington Hall
We have visited Berrington Hall - National Trust property before, but recently decided that as we were in the area to go back again. Glad we did, as they had an unusual exhibition in the house.
But first, here are some of the rooms
You might have spotted some of the exhibition from the photos...
As for the landscaping...that was the last one designed by Lancelot Brown (better known as Capability Brown, owing to the fact he would look at a view and declare it had 'Capabilities') - click link
Berrington Hall was his final work, so they are celebrating 300 years since his birth (1716).
There were several tables set up looking towards his landscaping.
During the Summer holidays there will be pencils and paper available for
everyone to have the opportunity to draw, but as I had my own pencils
etc. with me, well how could I not use it...
But first, here are some of the rooms
as always, I look Up

The unusual exhibition were these
Costumes
