Heddons Valley

Whilst the weather is still dry, we decided to take a walk along next to the river at

Heddon Valley

in the picture below you will see the pub, Hunters Inn
which is now owned by the National Trust

as we walked past and followed the river,
we could see a working party of National Trust rangers
and volunteers clearing the grounds behind the Inn

Cutting trees, but not taken away, they were being used on the site itself

Looked like they were doing a good job.

Apparently the weather forecasters are telling us there may be snow this week,
so we were glad to have got out for this walk
and very pleased to come across some
snowdrops!

I love to see snowdrops, they are so pretty. That looks a lovely place to walk before the weather turns nasty, I'm not looking forward to snow at all :(

How lovely! I miss walking in the woods. There are places to walk here but there are soooo many creepy crawly things (GIANT spiders, snakes and alligators) it's not exactly a peaceful experience.....lol.

Thanks Christine, they are very sweet little flowers. There's actually a snowdrop valley not so far from here. Literally Covered in snowdrops.

Eileen, we were lucky that it wasn't busy. We enjoyed our amble.

Yikes! you'll give me nightmares Robin. Bad enough with snakes and alligators, but SPIDERS, now that does freak me out!!!!!!

love the photos! I took a photo of flowers in May in Oregon and now I know what they are thanks to your post - snowdrops.

Snowdrops already! I forget how quickly the spring flowers arrive in England. No snowdrops raising their heads here until the end of March!
I've walked down to the beach many times along the river. Is the lime kiln still there at the head of the beach?

Sandy....that's so nice to know :)

Shammickite....Yes the lime kiln is still there. Next time we visit, I'll go down and take a picture of it for you :)
