Rain stopped play as they say....

This could have been my last painting session this year at Arlington Court.  The weather has definitely taken a turn towards Winter.   At least I got over there for some plein air painting, for what was a very short season.  Here's a clip of my set-up and the beginnings of a painting, before the rain - (I didn't record my frantic attempts to pack up my art supplies, by then I was soaked)!!!

I'm still working on this painting

and will add it here when completed.

I'm sorry to say I would have enjoyed watching you frantically trying to pack things up when the rain came.....but then I'm an asshat that way...... :-/ (I also would have helped after I giggled.....)

We've had days and days of heavy rain here. It's definitely bypassed Autumn and gone straight to Winter. You can complete your painting now in the comfort of your studio, shame you got soaked though.

Thanks Robin....I think my efforts in the rain would have cheered people up. I know when I got back to the car, and had to Unpack it all from my trolley (in the rain still), the couple in a car nearby had some entertainment 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks Eileen....I had hoped for at least one more painting session over there, but after this visit...NAH! No way! that's me done for the season now 🤣

Rain does tend to stop the fun doesn't it? It's starting to get colder and damper here too. Various members of my Artist Group have been meeting in the park with a chair and a coffee every Thursday to have an art chat, but it looks like we will have to abandon that idea soon. There's a restriction on how many people can meet indoors, and we are all supposed to stick to our own households. And my household is only me!

Shammickite......your restrictions sound much like ours here. It's a pity when get togethers like your art group have to stop meeting. Isn't quite the same on Zoom (which apparently some people do)...personally I don't do Zoom, but I'm not knocking it. I've now had to stop Arlington, the weather has got wetter and colder, but also visitor numbers will be down, so that's the season done over there this year for me.

This week the landlord and his wife at the Prince of Wales pub in Fore Street, Ilfracombe were confirmed as having covid. Apparently the landlord was reported as saying it was much like a bad cold, but I honestly think each person must get different symptoms, and it must depend on a persons general health. The ultimate is to just try and avoid it. Incidentally, a couple of other pubs have closed too, but they haven't said if it's because of covid cases there with staff. Squires in Braunton is closed because of a case within their staff.

HI Ann: yes I keep in touch with the news via what people write on the CM web site, I heard about the Prince of Wales case in Ilfracombe. I've done Zoom with relatives in England (brother in law in Romsey!) and done facetime with friends here as we can't really visit each other's houses. It's all very inconvenient!!!!! And very annoying.

Shammickite.....This whole business has certainly changed things! You have relatives in Romsey, so do I (small world sometimes isn't it)!
