A snake in the grass!

.....Not exactly

More like

On the steps

And perfectly harmless

Hubby made sure to carry the little chap/girl to the long grass

It's a Slow Worm.

Ooh no! Seeing that on the step would have freaked me out!

Eileen....These Slow worms are okay, and at least I recognise an Adder when I see one!... fortunately we haven't found an adder in our garden. There are hundreds of them over the dunes though, so we are very careful this time of year.

We have a 'pet' snake in our garden. We startle each other occasionally! LOL

Robin...I hope you Win more times 🤣

Marie...Yes, it is a nice colour and smoothness without being 'slimey' 🙂

I grew up with lots of these slow worms in the garden. Many of them found their way into my pockets to be kept as pets..... only for a little while. If the tail gets pulled off, they grow a new tail don't they?

Hi Shammickite....I was very slow myself adding your comment.....(little pun there, did you notice?)... We grew up enjoying the countryside and nature didn’t we, how lucky we were back in the day. I feel rather sad for today’s kids who for the most part seem to miss this.
