Corfe Castle

We have driven past this castle (ruins actually) for years and never had a look around it.  Decided we would on this occasion, and it turned out to be interesting.  For one thing we hadn't realised that it became a ruin, not through the ravages of weather and time, but because it had been a complete castle until Parliament, back in the day, decided it would have to be blown up (or under as it turned out, explosives were planted in the ground and blew it up).  I'll find some Links to add at the end of this post...

Here's a photo from one of the signs there to start off with - hope you can read it.

We walked around the perimeter, next to a stream.  Gave me a chance to photo various things...

As we passed the stream, we saw large building materials, and wondered if they had fallen down the hill from the castle, but then found a Information notice with these pics....again hope you can read them...

We finally made our way round to the entrance and so on up to the ruin
