By now I was feeling freezing cold and windswept, so I retreated back to the car for a coffee. Thank goodness we thought ahead and brought the flask along. (in case you wondered...Graham and William went for a walk for an hour whilst I painted). One thing I would say is, if you are going to be painting outside on location in blustery conditions and the cold, do make sure you wear warm clothing...anyway, lesson learned.
I took some reference photos at the time, to make sure I had something to refer back to in the studio. You'll see that the 'house' I painted looks more like a bungalow, but that doesn't bother me, I'm happy with how this is going. I'll get this painting finished and then do another blog post for you to see the finished result, but meanwhile here are my reference photos....

I would be in heaven there. Our parts of the world aren't so different. We spent yesterday on a windswept beach too with a camera instead of a paint brush. I admire your talent. I just point and shoot.
Well, it was certainly bracing that's for sure. Think you had it right with a camera, lol :)
I hope you had something truly warming in that flask.....
You may have been cold and windswept but at least the birds didn't 'get' you! (I say that because of the rock in your picture! lol)
Just be careful you don't get sand in your camera when it's blustery. I follow a blog and that happened to that lady on her travels. At least you went well prepared with a flask of hot coffee.

Lol...yes, I had to watch out where I set out my things!
Oh that would be annoying, I'm careful when it comes to things like that, but that said, you can never be sure - sand is a tricky little invader, gets everywhere!
